Ciphers of the
twenty-first century,
lashed to a
mast
as the
sirens sing,
and the wax
is melting
in the
growing heat.
Our oarsmen
steadily lose the tune.
Their
cadence incapable
of rowing to
safety,
and who
will be left
to untie us?
